When looking for a good travel sling backpack, there are several features you’re looking for that will make your journey comfortable and convenient. You want something that is versatile, yet stylish. You want it to be durable, but yet practical. It needs to be lightweight and comfortable for all the walking you may do as well as secure and weatherproof.
This one bag needs to have all these properties because things could go terribly wrong without these characteristics.
That’s why bought one of Amazon’s best-selling travel/day bags. The Mosiso Sling Bag. It’s a sling bag that may also be used as a backpack. It’s described as a messenger bag, a crossbody bag, a daypack, and a shoulder bag. With all of these features, I’ll give you my honest review on how I use it and if it’s as good as its reputation implies.
Why I bought the Mosiso sling backpack
To be honest, I didn’t know what to look for when I chose to replace my trusty backpack (both my handbag and my travel bag). My bag had enough room for me to carry everything I’d need right there at my side. There was just enough room in my backpack for my essential toiletries, one outfit, and my laptop. Since I purchased a great carry-on bag, the contents of this bag needed only to be limited to necessities other than a laptop and clothes.
Since I’ve started giving more thought to what I bring on trips, I’ve been on the lookout for a versatile bag that can serve as both a purse and a day bag. It needed to be spacious enough to include a few necessities, as well as a water bottle, an umbrella, and some other items that weren’t quite as crucial. My goal was to have it work for either the left or right shoulder.
Overall, I was on the lookout for a small, lightweight sling. It has to be tough enough to hold everything I own (including the kitchen sink) without being too cumbersome to carry about. I wanted it to be roomy enough to hold my stuff without seeming ridiculously huge and burdensome. At the end of the day, it had to be stylish.
Several of my fellow vacationers recommended that I check out the sling bags available on Amazon. Many of them raved about how useful the Mosiso bag was. I wasn’t completely sold on the Mosiso, but after consulting my friends and reading customer reviews on Amazon, I decided to give it a go.
Material and Aesthetics
The Mosiso Sling Backpack struck me as really simple at first glance. I questioned whether or not it would be big enough for my needs. However, the minimalist design is one of its best qualities. Its triangular form, which tapers to a backpack style, gives the game away that this bag is meant for traveling. In spite of being stuffed to capacity, I like its tailored fit and handy storage compartments.
The Mosiso Sling backpack measures around 12.44 x 10.35 x 3.43 inches and weighs in at just under one pound. This is a manageable size for a full day of exploration.
It provides enough of storage for your daily essentials while being rather compact. In addition to your money, keys, documents, phones, and electronic devices, you can also fit an 8-ounce water bottle on the side of this bag. You shouldn’t expect to be able to store much more than the bare necessities within, since this is just designed to be used in place of a purse or sling bag. It will be difficult to pack the bag with needs like a change of clothes, or even numerous water bottles.
A durable polyester is used for the outside, which helps to protect it from the environment and stains. This bag will shield its contents from the elements and accidental spills, and its exterior can be easily cleaned.
Choosing a color was the hard for me. Although I wanted a colorful bag, I still wanted to blend in when traveling. And because my favorite colors are red, orange and yellow, I felt these colors would definitely be attention getters, therefore I select black. Black goes with everything and is not going to get lots of attention. Besides, if I loved the bag so much, I could always go back and choose one of my favorite colors.
From the many colors to choose from, all the bags come with a white easy gliding zipper, located on the front, that offset the bag.
Compartments
The ability to find what you need quickly is a crucial feature of any bag. Both more and fewer compartments are not equivalent to better or worse. This sling by Mosiso is ideal.
There are 4 compartments on the Mosiso. The front of the bag has a flat pouch that serves as the first compartment and is secured with a silver zipper.
This is where I keep my phone and money. It is pretty roomy and stretches from the bag’s bottom to its top. The pouch’s top features a cable access hole, which will appeal to those who prefer wired headphones.
Behind the pouch is an open area. Since it doesn’t need to be locked, I keep a little cosmetic bag, hand sanitizer, and other items in this section.
There is a zipper protecting the main pocket. Additionally, it has another pocket inside that fits my small iPad perfectly. I can also fit my fold-up jacket, equipment for my gadgets, and other essentials in this area. My 10-inch Samsung also fits snugly in this space after I gave it a try.
There are mesh pockets on both sides of the bag. My water bottle and umbrella are supported by them.
Versatility
I love the versatility of this sling.
The adjustable shoulder strap is well padded and measures roughly 3 inches wide. The straps may be tightened or loosened by pulling the string at the buckle’s end. It wasn’t a deal breaker, but I didn’t enjoy how the tail end of the strap hung uselessly in the breeze after I adjusted it. It would have been nice if it were tacked down.
Although this bag is designed to hold a lot of items, it may become rather heavy if you attempt to pack it full. Both the sling’s back and shoulder strap are generously cushioned to distribute the load evenly and prevent back strain.
Two D-rings are located on each end of the sling. This allows you to switch between right and left shoulder to carry your items.
Summary
The Mosiso bag is lightweight, easy to carry but still big enough to store all your essentials. It has four compartments, including one front zipped pockets, one back zippered pocket, and two side mesh pockets on the exterior.
The spacious, compartmentalized design makes it easy to fit your wallet, keys, phone, travel documents, a water bottle, and other essentials without the worry of the bag tearing or becoming disorganized. Not to mention, an adjustable shoulder strap allows you to personalize the length to your height and preference.
The bag even comes in two sizes and several colors ranging from black to yellow, so finding the perfect match for your next trip is a total breeze.
Overall, I do like the Mosiso sling backpack. It’s well made and thoughtful design was meant for a simplistic person. I love the fact that you can wear it on either shoulder if one shoulder gets tired or if you are a lefty.
Although its smaller than a backpack, the material is sturdy enough to carry all the items you take on the plane. I can see myself using this bag for a long time.
If there is one thing I would change, it would be the adjustable strap with the hanging tail. I would also add a clip on the inside of the bag to hold keys. Overall, I love the bag.
